Wildflower Fact Sheet The New Jersey Pine Barrens contains over 800 species of flowers plants including 54 species that are threatened with extinction in New Jersey. A few species, such as the Bog Asphodel, are found no where else in the world. Some species reach the northern or southern limit of their range in the Pine Barrens.
Many species of wild orchids are found in the Pine Barrens.

The Pine Barrens contains rare species such as the Bog Asphodel, Pinelands Gentian, and the Swamp Pink Lily.

There are many kinds of flowering shrubs found in the Pine Barrens, including Mountain Laurel, and Bay Magnolia.
